The Manager, Tax Compliance, Reporting and Risk oversees corporate tax compliance, tax accounting and reporting, and tax risk management across CSL’s Canadian and international operations. This role ensures accurate and timely reporting, maintains effective tax governance and controls, and acts as a key resource on Canadian, international and shipping-related tax matters.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex Canadian and international tax matters in a global maritime organization, influence tax governance and reporting, and help strengthen the capabilities of a growing tax team.
At CSL, we acknowledge that our employees are at the heart of our success. That’s why we offer much more than just a job:
Ensure compliance with Canadian and international tax reporting requirements, including Canadian income tax returns, T106 and T1134 forms, foreign tax filings coordinated with external advisors, and country-by-country reporting.
Prepare annual Canadian and consolidated corporate income tax provisions and related journal entries, including tax account reconciliations, true-up adjustments and legal-entity tax instalment calculations under ASPE.
Lead tax accounting matters and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on tax accounting and reporting requirements.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure that compliance systems, processes and controls are updated accordingly.
Oversee the tax risk management process, including the risk register, governance and quality control.
Train and mentor junior team members on tax compliance practices, processes and systems.
Develop subject-matter expertise in shipping tax regimes applicable to CSL’s operations, particularly in the United Kingdom, Norway, Australia and Indonesia.
Ensure adherence to governance and substance requirements across CSL legal entities.
Oversee Canadian federal and provincial corporate income tax audits and any resulting disputes.
