How will you contribute to our success?

The total rewards specialist plays a key role in aligning compensation policies with organizational objectives and market competitiveness. At the intersection of strategy, analysis, and execution, this position requires in-depth knowledge of compensation and benefits. 

 

Working closely with the Director, Total Rewards, they help develop total compensation strategies that foster employee engagement, retention, and performance. They serve as a resource for total compensation matters, providing guidance to HR business partners and recruitment teams. This position requires a balance between data-driven decision-making, collaboration with stakeholders, and a high level of operational execution. 

 

  • Participate in the annual compensation cycle, including the annual salary review process, bonuses, and total compensation statements;
  • Manage the job evaluation system and position evaluation processes;
  • Make salary recommendations for new hires, promotions, or internal transfers, ensuring internal and external equity across different roles;
  • Manage and maintain the pay equity program;
  • Collaborate with Finance to carry out the annual budgeting process and forecast updates;
  • Conduct market benchmarking studies and participate in various compensation surveys;
  • Conduct research on compensation practices and policies; 

Employee Benefits 

  • Analyze and administer various group insurance plans and pension plan;
  • Manage wellness initiatives; Work with payroll teams to ensure the accurate processing of various payments and benefits; 

The skills you will bring to our team

Education : Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or actuarial science and CHRA designation,an asset

 

Technical Knowledge : U.S. group insurance plans and 401(k)s is an asset.

 

Experience and Key Competencies:

  • 3–5 years of experience in compensation and benefits.
  • In-depth knowledge of the following areas: compensation, pensions, employee benefits, and pay equity (federal legislation);
  • Attention to detail;
  • High level of autonomy;
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel or data processing tools;
  • Ability to collaborate closely with other departments within the organization, whether at the corporate level, within business units, or with external partners;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong commitment to customer service;
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills under pressure and within tight deadlines; 
  • Ability to build relationships and foster teamwork.
