Overview

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Master to join our transhipment operations in Western Australia. Reporting to the Fleet Superintendent, the Master is in command of the ship, safety and security of her cargo, crew and environment.

How will you contribute to our success?

The Master will be responsible for:

  • Implementation of the Company’s policies as contained in the AVMS and other official Company instructions on matters of safety, security, operation and environmental protection;
  • Ensuring that commercial considerations do not take precedence over safety and environmental protection;
  • Allocating reasonable tasks or duties to their crew for the safe and efficient operation of the ship;
  • Making decisions with respect to the safety of the ship, the crew, passengers and with respect to pollution prevention.

The skills you will bring to our team

  • AMSA Master COC/COR Unlimited (required)
    • Education Requirement: As per AMSA Marine Order 71 (mandatory)
    • Technical Requirement: minimum 5 years sea time as a Chief Officer (mandatory)
    • STCW regulation II/2
  • MSIC Card (required)
  • ECDIS and GMDSS (required)
  • Certificate of Safety Training (required)
  • Australian Citizen or hold a valid working visa without working restrictions
  • Living in an Australian state (required)
  • Pilotage Exemption Certificate for Cape Preston (desirable)
  • Be able to wear a respirator on deck
